Modeling An Elevator Console With Unity ProBuilder

For this post, I am quickly modeling an elevator panel which will be used to call elevators in my sidescroller platformer game.

Today’s Objective: Model a simple elevator console (stand with buttons) using Unity’s ProBuilder package, for my sci-fi themed platformer.

Time to build!

Starting with a tall cube, I will shape this into a modern sci-fi-style console panel with 2 buttons.

I use a number of “Connect Edges” on vertical edges to create a unique console shape for easy button accessibility. Then a few quick face scales and extrudes to create the 2 buttons in the main facing panel section.

For a better modern style, I thin down the front faces, making the object look a little more sci-fi and tech-y.

After shaping the buttons into arrows and adding some simple but good-looking material colors, it now looks like I initially wanted it to.

It’s a simple design, but fits nicely into my science lab environment.
